Constitution of Mental Health Committee (MHC)

In pursuance of the directions conveyed by the Directorate of Higher Education, Himachal Pradesh vide Order No. EDN-HE(3) A-16/2025-NTF, regarding implementation of the National Task Force (NTF) on Student Mental Health, a Mental Health Committee (MHC) is hereby constituted in Government College Thural with immediate effect to promote mental health awareness, provide support to students, and coordinate activities related to student mental well-being.
The committee shall comprise the following members:

Functions of the Committee

The committee shall:

  1. Promote mental health awareness and emotional well-being among students.
  2. Identify students requiring psychological or emotional support and facilitate timely counselling/referral.
  3. Organize awareness programmes, workshops, seminars, and counselling sessions on stress management, suicide prevention, and mental health.
  4. Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity while dealing with student concerns.
  5. Coordinate with the Directorate of Higher Education and other competent authorities regarding NTF-related activities and compliance.
  6. Maintain records of activities conducted and submit reports as and when required.
  7. Undertake any other task assigned by the Directorate of Higher Education or the Principal concerning student mental health.
    The committee shall function with immediate effect and remain in force for the session 2026 to 2027 .
